Circus Classes

Joe Hoffman is a professional circus performer and is a member of the Volcano Circus from the Big Island. Besides performing, Joe teaches classes for young people in basic juggling, stilt walking, balance and clowning. Joe also teaches Capoeira a martial art and dance form from Brazil. Team member Elysha Woolger lives in Moloa'a and is a professional character actor, director and arial artist. Team leader Mark Jeffers of Storybook Theatre is a trained actor, puppeteer and theatre games instructor in Hawaii schools.

We will be offering classes both in Kilauea and Hanapepe during the winter recess from school! Classes will be from 9:00 - 11:00am and 3:00 - 5:00pm each instruction day. The circus program in Kilauea will be a separate tuition than Hanapepe. Spots are limited to a class size of 15 - 20 students with an assist/spotter for each class. We will focus on the basic circus arts: juggling, stilt walking and clowning.
