Teacher Workshops
Incorporating Sign Language into your Curriculum
Did you know that using sign language in the classroom can triple the number of connections made in the brain during a lesson? Or that sign language is particularly helpful for hearing students with autism and other learning disabilities? This professional development workshop teaches your instructors how to incorporate sign language in their daily lessons through song, art projects, centers, reading, and regular instruction. Teachers will also learn why sign language is such a valuable multi-sensory classroom tool. Over 50 signs and the alphabet are introduced and teachers are given resources for learning more signs. This workshop is appropriate for preschool and early elementary school teachers. For more information about this workshop, contact Storybook Theatre.
